Social Media And Local Business - Is It The Next Big Thing?

 I know what it is intended to do but what I have found is that once I begin to use social tools my brain goes into overdrive. I start thinking about how it could work for a dealership. How it could work for our agency. Friends and family meet regularly on Facebook. Colleagues and like-minded people use Twitter to share ideas throughout the day. Professionals are social media marketing connecting on LinkedIn. Flickr and YouTube stream photos and videos to the world eternally. And blogs are maintained for topics as varied as pro football officiating and crocheting. All this is going on 24 hours a day, every day of every year. Is your business connecting with people where they are now? This relies on the creation of meaningful, quality content that people want to click on, read and share. Don't blog on Facebook. Blog from your website and market that content through your Facebook page. The idea of social media agency media is to use it as a tool to drive traffic, so you must make your website your customers' ultimate destination. Think of your website as the Hawaii of your Internet marketing plan. All efforts should end on your shore. This word has been around for a while. But you still need it in your focus and communication. Branding is a word that you need to utilize not only in your messages, but your focus as well. No one gets on Facebook or Twitter to shop. People are on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks to socialize with friends, play games, and have fun. If you want your business to succeed in social media you need to find a way to make it fun or people will ignore you. Social media is for being social; it is not an ad in the classifieds. I have found from many previous mistakes that it is not the best policy to mix business with pleasure whilst being involved in social media marketing. However this is just one point of view that others may disagree with and that is fine. The best and simplest way to decide on the right agency is to search on the search engine you are targeting. The first few results are the agencies that have at least done a good job for themselves. If they are capable of doing this they would be capable enough to do the same for your organization. In terms of advertising, Social-media is the way to go. A very good strategy to use most especially if you are using other strategies like Pay per Click or Pay per Action. It is also one way to gain links. No sweat, no worries. Let the traffic flow, let the Social Media work the magic for you. Determine Your Resources- Are you going to create your own content? If not, who else? Are you going to be the person to handle your social media sites? Who is going to handle questions/concerns? Who is going to take care of the technical stuff? These are important questions for you to determine in order to make sure you have the right people in nplace to aid in your business if you're not going to do everything on your own.
